JOHNNY CAVAGIN

We are sad to announce that we have reached the decision to retire Johnny Cavagin. At 11yrs old ourselves and his owner, Mr Alan Bell decided that it was time for him to retire from racing. He is going to be rehomed with a lady called Louise Milne near his owners home in Newcastle where she is going to retrain him to do dressage.

Johnny has been a legend of a horse and we have loved having him in our yard. He was an absolute pleasure to train and we were very privileged to have had him here for the last couple of seasons.

Out of 76 runs, he has won 11 races and been second 10 times, 5 of those wins came at Pontefract where he seemed to love best and he had a lot of fans in the crowd there as well.

We know he will be spoilt in his new home which he deserves, especially as Alan and Angela will be able to visit him and make a fuss of him when he's nearby. I'm sure we will have regular updates on his progress in his new home and lifestyle and we wish Louise the best of luck with him!

Here's a video of him last time he won at his beloved Pontefract on 28th July 2019
